Here is an interesting case of recontouring lingual tori during crown lengthening of this mandibular tori.  Besides facilitating easier replacement of the flap, tori removal in this case, may facilitate more predictable healing because of the removal of an osseous crater that was created during the initial ostectomy.

Literature suggest protruding upper incisors should be retracted as soon as possible to avoid a greater risk of trauma. In this orthodontic lecture we will see how a dental functional appliance, the twin block, can retract the upper incisors while activating the mandible. In orthodontic school, after orthodontic diagnosis, I was taught to use two different appliances to do that, and then dental braces. But after seeing how effecting that is, I use that.
